At the origin of Fabrizio Corsi’s painting there is an olive-tree bent by the wind, there are the harsh and sunny landscapes of Sardegna, represented with immediacy of perceptions and a colouristic tension of lights and shadows. An instinctive and spontaneous way of painting.

Then the technique gets refined and becomes more meditated in the nuances of water-colours and oils, that transmit a way of feeling in which emotions are controlled and filtered by the painter’s moods and sensitivity.

Wemay find seascapes with suffused horizons on which stand out some dark boat shapes.

We may find views of beloved landscapes for his present time and for his memory, catched in variety of lights during a day or seasons.

Many years ago Fabrizio Corsi used to show himself as an autodidact; as if he wanted to apologize for the truth of his painting. That times are far away by now.

Maybe he has not an academic culture background, but is clearly evident a course that has progressively obtained an expressive way and a technical consciousness, well testified by his recent production, in which the landscapes of Maremma(1), certainly aware fo impressionistic lesson and macchiaiola(2) tradition, improve lights and transparences of recollected and dreamt places, kept in memory and continuously rediscovered, with games of lights and colours that well transmit the author’s feelings.

Fabrizio Corsi’s painting is not pleased by what he has obtained, but is employed in a continous becoming, as a taken of an artistic and personal tension that does not want to be satisfied and that feels he still has many things to tell.
